William Thomas Bradsher
Obituary
William Thomas “Tommy” Bradsher of Holden Beach went home to be with the Lord Sunday, April 15, 2018.
Born in Southport on Oct. 4, 1949, he was the son of the late Albert Walker “A.W.” Bradsher and Elizabeth Ilene Grissett Bradsher.
Tommy would describe himself as “just a small town boy from Grissettown, N.C.,” who spent his youth helping his dad crop tobacco. A graduate of UNCW, with a bachelor’s degree in business, he was the owner-operator of Bradsher’s Car Exchange, Bradsher’s Inc. and later Brunswick Beaches Camping Resort. He was a member of Shallotte Masonic Lodge No.727 AF & AM, and the Sudan Temple Shrine.
He spent 41 years married to his childhood sweetheart, Wanda Parker. Together they raised five children, Erika (Rusty) Campbell, Deana (Jeff) Milliken, Will Bradsher, Meghan (Chad) Casteen, and Kortney (Gary) Nowell; sisters, Sharon Cranford (Hank) of Concord, NC and Donna Shener (Dave) of Arizona. He loved to brag about his 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild who called him “Papa Tommy.”
He carried many titles including hunter, fisherman, businessman, captain, mason, shriner, colorful storyteller, friend, but the ones he loved the most were husband and daddy. He was loved and will be missed by us all.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2018 in the Brunswick Funeral Service chapel by The Rev. Eddie Hill. Interment will follow in the Brooks Cemetery with masonic rites.
Casket bearers will be Randy Parker, Gordon Grissett, Cane Faircloth, Rusty Campbell, Gary Nowell, Chad Casteen and Jeff Milliken.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
