Bill was married to his sweetheart Gerry for 65 years. They have been residents of Sunset Beach for 20 years. They are members of Calabash Presbyterian Church, where Bill was an usher.

Bill is survived by two adoring daughters, Tracy Wittman and her husband Kevin, and Gay Myrick. He was a proud grandfather to Jason and Matthew Wittman, Samantha Deason and Mariah Myrick. Bill was blessed with three great grandchildren, Sean and Allyana Wittman and Caiden Block.

Predeceased by his brother Robert (Bob) and survived by brothers; James (Jim) Satterfield and John (Mickey) and wife June Satterfield, sister Margaret (Pat) Douglas and husband Dave, sister-in-law Theresa (Terry) Satterfield, Bob’s wife, and many nieces and nephews.

Bill loved golf, both watching and playing. In his younger years, he was a magician and loved to entertain the young and old. Up until his last days, he had a delightful sense of humor and he always loved a good joke. His presence on this earth will be deeply missed.

Special thanks to the certified nurse aides: Sarah, Ariel, and Crystal who loved and cared for Bill, as well as social worker Jennifer Stiffler’s support for the family. We cannot express in words our thanks for the love, special care and compassion extended by Nurse Kim Taylor from Lower Cape Fear Hospice Care.
