Obituary
Youvon Legrand “Pete” Phelps, 82, of Supply, NC died on April 20, 2021.
Born in Brunswick County, NC on October 10, 1938, he was a son of the late Lancin B. Phelps and Dola Hewett Phelps. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Lenare Phelps.
He retired from Cottrell Engineering Company as a dredge superintendent. He was a member of Shallotte Masonic Lodge #727 AF & AM, the Sudan Temple Shrine, South Brunswick Islands Shrine Club, Sudan Temple Daredevils Motor Unit, and the N.C. National Guard.
Surviving are his wife, Nancy Benton Phelps; son, Legrand Phelps (Cheryl), Supply, NC; daughters, Donna Gore (Pee-Wee), Ash, NC and Wendy Phelps, Supply, NC; ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, April 25, 2021 at 2:00 pm in Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Silent Grove Cemetery with masonic rites.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at the church.
Masks and social distancing will be observed.
